Data Backup

If your iPad is configured to regularly backup data, data collected in the NIH Toolbox app is included with your backups.

Automatic backup to iCloud happens automatically as long as your iPad is connected to WiFi, charging, and locked. For more information on automatic backup, click here.

Manual backup using iCloud or iTunes backs up your data when you manually choose to do so. Please ensure you are signed in with the Apple ID that is associated with your NIH Toolbox app. For more information on manual backup, click here.

To restore data from a backup using iCloud or iTunes, first restore your iPad. Log in with the same Apple ID, then install the NIH Toolbox app from the App Store. If the backup and restore process worked appropriately, you should see your backed up data in the app. Please note this process relies on Apple, so we cannot guarantee a perfect data transfer.
