In December 2025, two new experimental tests were released in the NIH Toolbox V3 English and NIH Toolbox V3 Spanish apps: Academic Assessment Math and Academic Assessment Reading.
Users should be aware that these two tests are currently experimental versions, and should not be used without permission from the NIH Toolbox team. At this time, valid test-level scores are not calculated. The NIH Toolbox team anticipates updating this test in late 2026, at which time the scoring algorithm will be implemented, and this test will no longer be marked as ‘experimental’.
Assessments completed using the experimental version of this test will NOT be equivalent to the to-be-released Final version.
Backward scoring and/or formulas WILL NOT BE PROVIDED for administrations of the experimental versions of this test.
