The NIH Toolbox V2 app is available in the Apple App Store and can be downloaded for free. Prior to purchasing a subscription, you can explore the app for free via Trial Mode. This will give you the opportunity to get comfortable with the app and its functionality. Please note that data is not saved in Trial Mode and you will not have access to reports or data exports.
The subscription is for 12 months, and the subscription cost will be automatically renewed on your Apple ID account. The V2 subscription cost will increase each year until the app is retired.
This subscription may be used on up to 10 iPads, as long as you use the same Apple ID when you purchased the subscription. An NIH Toolbox subscription allows you to create an unlimited number of participants, assessments, score reports, and data exports.
Be aware that although a subscription can be shared across devices, the information entered and data collected on one device is not shared across devices. Please make sure that you export data before deleting the app. Once the app is deleted, there is no option to recover data. After you delete the app on a device and remove that device on the list of devices sharing that Apple ID, you can then install the app on another device using the same Apple ID that is associated with the active subscription.
Kindly note that the NIH Toolbox V3 app is an updated version of NIH Toolbox V2. The V2 app will remain available until June 30, 2028, and will fully retire on July 1, 2028. Users who wish to continue using the NIH Toolbox must move to the NIH Toolbox V3 app.
