We, like so many others across the globe, were deeply impacted by COVID-19. As part of these adjustments, the NIH Toolbox team acknowledged that the standard administration protocols for many of our measures would likely not be able to be adhered to. To assist in helping research studies and assessments continue, we provided guidance on which of the NIH Toolbox tests can be administered remotely via screen sharing. We have also revised two of our Cognition tests, Picture Vocabulary and Picture Sequence Memory, to make remote assessment easier. To access these tests in the NIH Toolbox V2 app, please ensure the app has the most recent update installed. As a note, remote administration is not currently available in the NIH Toolbox V3 app.

In an effort to assist in the use of our app with screen sharing software, we have created step-by-step guidelines using Zoom as an example. We do not necessarily endorse Zoom over other software vendors, but it is the one we get the most questions about. We anticipate that some or all of these steps will be applicable to other screen sharing software. The guidelines linked here are duplicates of each other (one is merely an abridged version).
