How can I add a participant?

To add a participant in NIH Toolbox V3, tap “Participants” on the navigation bar on the left of the screen. On the Participants screen, tap the blue “+ New Participant” button on the bottom. The participant’s demographics can be filled in on the next screen. 

Only the Identifier and Date of Birth are required to save a participant. If you would like to de-identify the date of birth (e.g., if you are concerned about protecting personal health information [PHI]), you may elect to enter the correct month and year but substitute an alternate number for the day. For example, if the participant’s date of birth is 8/18/2017, you might enter 8/1/2017 instead. Please note that entering an alternate day may impact the participant’s calculated age. 

When you are finished, tap “Next” and if all the information looks correct, tap “Save”. You can also come back to edit the participant’s demographics later.
